Learn About Ways to GiveEmployee, Alumna Makes CSUSB Beneficiary of Will

So when she graduated from CSUSB in 2007 with a 3.97 grade-point average, her journey of self development had taken her to new heights. After completing high school through adult education, she worked in retail and as a cross-country truck driver for 15 years before even thinking about college.
Financial aid, work study and the McNair Scholars program for first-generation college attendees all bolstered her efforts at CSUSB. She earned a degree in kinesiology.
Now studying in the graduate program for public health, she has taught a lab on the ecological approach to health and she hopes the terminal degree will lead to a full-time career as a professor.
"This institution has had such a profound impact on my life," Lane said, explaining her decision to include CSUSB in her will. "I have financial independence and a career...it's been a huge stepping stone."
Lane worked on her bequest after taking a seminar on estate planning at CSUSB offered by the Office of Gift and Estate Planning.
